Founding ceremony of Nanchang University Alumni Association in North America is held successfully on Sunday, June 23, 2002 in both Chicago and Toronto.

In Chicago, there are 38 people(alumni, families, and guests) attended the ceremony in the Univ. of Chicago. Among the alumni, one was from St.Louis, one from Kansas, two from Milwaukee. Six guests were from Chinese Consulate( three from Sci Tech team, one from Foreign Affairs team, two from Education team). Alumnus XueDong Zhan read the congratulation letter from Nanchang University. Head of the Sci Tech team Zhong Zhang read the congratulation letter from Consul General Wei. Two reporters from local Chinese newspapers and TV came to report our event.

In Toronto, there are more than 54 people ( including at least 34 alumni) attended the picnic. Most alumni in Toronto and nearby area showed up, which is very impressive. Organizers of the Toronto picnic have raised some fund through selling water and Chinese food.
